So if you haven't noticed I'm not good at keeping this thing updated AT ALL!!! It is definetly one habit I don't have (that is keeping records). This week has just flown by and I can't believe I only have 5 weeks left! I simply do not want to come home! Well I'm going to break down some of the weeks happenings using pictures with a few short stories. I will however include A LOT from today's pictures however because I think it was fabulous!
Sunday (June 20th) I went to church at the Finglas Ward at 11:00 am.... well it was more like 11:30 because I got on the wrong bus and due to how slow the buses are I ended up kind of late :) but the good news is I found it! The ward is rather small and it is pretty multicultural. While there I met a friend! Her name is Michelle and she is from California and doing an internship here (through a different program) and will be here until mid August. After church I talked her into walking around the Glasnevin Cemetery with me. The cemetery along with a botanical garden are right across the street from the church and I was dying to go in there.
The cemetery is gorgeous! I took so many wonderful pictures here but so as to not overwhelm the common folk I will only put up a few on here.
(I just stared in awe at some of the head stones)
(where the family vaults are)
(ha ha)
(Isn't it just beautiful!)
(Old church on the grouds. pretty spectacular!)
So after spending about an hour in the cemetery we walked over to the Botanical gardens! It was soooo pretty! We spent nearly 2 hours there walking around and taking pictures and we weren't even able to make it through the whole gardens. There were so many good pictures to chose from I couldn't decide. But I hope you enjoy these.
(On almost every sign they have the Irish and English name)
(super awesome cactus garden)
(I love this picture)
So this is Michelle
(ha I thought these looked like ballerinas!)
(anyone remember the secret garden?)
(even cooler ballerina!)
I honestly felt like I was in Alice and Wonderland while in the garden! Soooo many things reminded me of the cartoon. Including the ballerina flowers.
(one of the super cool green houses)
(This tree reminded me of Grandmother Willow from Pocohauntus (sp?))
(Michelle and I... I love my chacos :)
(michelle again, very cute)
(Walking across the bridge I saw this!)
(You can't really tell but this is walking into the rose garden)
(I took tons of pictures of the roses but since you've all seen them before just chose this one to sum them up)
(Walking back to the entrance)
(Ijust like how this one turned out)
Ok so i'm almost done with the pictures from here I promise!
THrough the trees is a field of grass. very picturesque
(cool old tree)
I just really like this picture :)
So we have come to the end of the pictures from Sunday's activities! What do you think? It was a wonderful day and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it. I was planning on posting pictures of the rest of the week as well but This one took so long the rest may have to wait until tomorrow. There are just too many I want you all to see! Until tomorrow then!
