So to sort of kind of pick up where I left off (on Thursday evening) I wanted to share the short but comical story of Thursday night. I was woken up in the middle of the night by my roommate, at the time I didn't know who it was, banging doors and what sounded like trying to get his door open which was locked. Both the doors to the apartment and to our individual rooms lock and sometimes getting them unlocked can be tricky. They are also very heavy which means that if you open them and let go they will close and bang shut.

So over the course of a few minutes I was woken up with the sounds of him locking/opening/closing the door over and over again. I thought perhaps he was just drunk so I tried to turn over and go back to sleep when all of a sudden I hear MY door open and in walks my roommate! half naked I might add! I was sort of freaked out and so I asked what he was doing and when he didn't respond and he started coming towards me I got out of bed and asked him again what he was doing. I got a little muttering this time and I could tell he was sleep walking! Ha ha he had me really worried for a minute but once I realized he was sleep walking I just walked him back out into the hall and shut and locked my door. Lesson Learned! ALWAYS lock your door at night! :)

So I wanted to include a few pictures of my room and what I'm living with so here they are. You saw the hallway. The one above is my bathroom.

(Sink with the two different taps for hot and cold.
This is very common here)

I don't have any pictures of the dining area for you! so sorry about that. But here is a picture of the entire complex. As you can see it is not very big. My building is all the way in the back and to the left.

Friday I had my interview. Like before mentioned I will be working in the lab for Health and Human Performance at DCU. It is right around the corner from me so I feel pretty fortunate to be able to walk right to work and not have to worry about buying a monthly bus pass or anything like that. The campus is fairly small and from what I can tell (based on the map) the majority of which is occupied by sport complexes and housing. It is a pretty campus however and I am glad to be there.

I met with my supervisor Niall Moyna Friday afternoon. He is a very enthusiastic, intelligent sort of person who talks about a million miles per hour and I think I only caught about 70% of what he was saying. Ha I can tell he will be a great person to work under. He has a lot of big plans for me. Of which I am very excited but a little aprehensive. How much can I really learn in 6 weeks? Well I guess we will find out. I am starting sometime Monday morning. I think we decided on around 10 am and I have some reading that he gave me to do. I shall stay very busy. They have a lot of projects that they are working on right now and from the sounds of it he intends to have me helping with all of it. I hope that he doesn't expect too much of me.

Well it is once again bed time and I will have to catch up on the weekend's adventures tomorrow sometime.
